Raigoin Temple belong to the Tendai sect of Buddhism.
This temple was founded by Preist Ennin between around 851 and 854 as a place for the practice of Shomyo.
This Shomyo was known as Gyozan-style Shomyo and the temple became a center for the learning of Tendai-sect Shomyo.
The main hall has three Buddhist statues of Bhaisajyaguru, Amitabha and Gautama Buddha.
They are designated as important cultrural assets.
