Hosen-in Temple is one of the sub temple of the Shorinin temple. And this temple was a training temple for "shomyo".
"Shomyo" is a style of Japanese Buddhist chant.
This temple has "Goyomatsu" pine tree in the garden. This tree is a Kyoto City specification natural monument. It is said to be more than 700 years.
The Shoin contains the timber from Fushimi Castle in the ceiling of its corridor.
