Ryogen-in Temple is one of the sub-temples of Daitokuji Temple. It is also the head temple of the South School of Daitokuji. Ryogen-in Temple was founded in 1502.
The main hall (called Hojo), the entrance and the entrance Gate(Omotem) are buildings from time when the temple was established. They are designated as Important Cultural Assets.
The main hall is the oldest building in the Daitokuji precincts. It is a building of a typical zen style.
There is a go board by which Hideyoshi Toyotomi played with Ieyasu Tokugawa.
