Danrin-ji

In 786-850, Danrin-ji Temple was established by Tachibana Kachiko, emperor Saga's wife.
There were 12 sub-temples in vast precincts at establishment.
In this temple, monk Giku who had come from China taught the idea of ZEN for the first time in Japan.
A present temple was rebuilt in 1964.
