Jikishian

This temple belong to the Jodo sect of Buddhism. It originally belonged to the Obaku sect of Buddhism.
The Zen master Dokusho was opened the thatched hut here in 1646.
Other halls werw later added to create alarg temple. It was given the name Jikishian.
This temple gradually fell into ruin, however, until it was restored around the end of the Edo period by Muraokano Tsubone.
She was involved in the Ansei Roundup and was imprisoned in Edo.
After she was pardoned, she returned to Kyoto and lived in Saga.
The present buildings were reconstructed after being destroyed by fire in 1880.
