Koryuji

This temple is the oldest temple in Kyoto.
This temple belong to the Shingon sect of the Buddhism.
It was founded in 603 by Shotoku Taishi and Kawakatsu Hata.
The principal image in this temple is a statue of the "Miroku Bosatsu".
It was specified for the National Treasure for the first time in Japan.
And this temple has several National Treasure in "Reihoden".
Ushi Matsuri festival is held on October 10.
It is one of three unique festivals in Kyoto.
