This is the former villa of painter Kansetsu Hashimoto (1883-1945).
The garden was designed by Kansetsu himself.
The main hall, which looks out on the garden, was kansetu's painting studio.
His paintings are on display in this hall.
His art style is wide of having taken both the style of traditional China and styles of Japan.
