Miyakehachiman

Miyakehachiman Shrine was founded in the reign of Empress Suiko by Onono Imoko.
Imoko headed for China as an envoy of Prince Shotoku. He got sick in the Tsukushi provinces on the way of the travel.
So he prayed for recovery to the deity of Usahachiman.
Imoko's recovery was so early.
After he returns to Japan, he enshrined the deity of Usahachiman to this place.
This shrine is also known as 'Mushihachiman'.
It is believed that child's bad health is healed.
A lot of parents and child visit this shrine on September 15 every year.
