This shrine was built by Hatano Imikitori in 701.
Afterwards, it came to be believed in as a god of sake brewing by Muromachi Period.
The main shrine is a building of the Muromachi end. It is called "Matsuo-zukuri".
In precincts, there is spring water that is called "kamenoi" spring water.
It is said that sake doesn't rot when brewing adding this water.
