Kuramadera Temple is the head temple of the Kurama Kokyo sect of Buddhism. In 770, this temple was founded by Gancho.
In 796, Fujiwara Isendo built buildings of this temple as a religious training hall to guard the Imperial Court.
Hatsutora Festival and the Bamboo Cutting Ceremony are held here ever year. Both are famous historical events.
Mt. Kurama-yama in precincts changes the expression at each four seasons, and is beautiful.
