Kanju-ji

This temple is the head temple of the Sankai school of the Shingon sect of Buddhism.
It was founded by Emperor Daigo in 900.
And it was named Kaju-ji after his grandfather's posthumous name.
The main hall, the study, and main residence were transferred from Imperial Palace during the Edo period.
The main hall has a thousand-armed Avalokitesvara statue.
The temple has the garden around the pond "Himuro-ike".
The water lilies on the "Himuro-ike" pond is beautiful in summer.
